• 1.1 Explain the function of common networking protocols, such as TCP/IP

• 1.3 Identify the following address formats: IPv4

• 1.4 Given a scenario, evaluate the proper use of the following addressing technologies and addressing schemes: subnetting, clasful vs. classless, CIDR, public vs. private, and DHCP

• 5.1 Given a scenario, select the appropriate command line interface tool and interpret the output to verify functionality, such as Ipconfig, Ifconfig, Ping, and ARP

To achieve these goals, you must be able to

• Describe how the Internet Protocol works

• Explain CIDR and subnetting

• Describe the functions of static and dynamic IP addresses
