Chapter 15. Implement a Wireless LAN

Wireless technology is becoming more prevalent and uses radio frequency to transmit data to and from network devices. This chapter examines several concepts as they relate to wireless local area networks (WLAN).

Small Office/Home Office Wireless Router—This integrates ports for Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing (between the Internet and the local area network), as well as wireless capabilities to receive and send to wireless network devices inside the home or small office. Generally, the wireless devices and those connected to the switch port are in the same logical IP network and the same VLAN.
