Chapter 7: Introduction to TCP/IP
First, open Internet Explorer. Then, in the address window, type the following:
ftp://jsmith:getfiles@ftp.domain.com
Some older versions of IE, such as IE 5 and 6, won’t pass passwords through a URL. If you’re using one of these older browsers, open IE and type ftp://ftp.domain.com into the address window and press Enter. You will get a message telling you that you’re not authorized to view the page. Click OK to remove the security dialog box. Then, right-click in the blank browser window and select Login As. In the dialog box that pops up, enter your username and password.
