Know how to boot into Safe Mode.

To access Safe Mode, you must press F8 when the operating system menu is displayed during the boot process.

Be able to identify the diagnostic procedures.

CompTIA wants you to take a systematic approach to the problem that helps you isolate the problem and quickly identify it. You should be able to list the steps given in order.

Know the file systems.

Make sure you can explain the differences between FAT16, FAT32, NTFS4, and NTFS5 and tell which OSs they're compatible with.

Understand file attributes.

You should be able to explain the major file attributes and how to set them.
