Working with the 3D Environment

Due to increasingly short postproduction times in film, television, and commercial production, 2D and 3D software package features have begun to overlap. After Effects, which is mainly designed for 2D compositing, nevertheless has a full 3D environment with cameras, lights, materials, and more recently, the ability to render 3D geometry (Figure 5.1).
