Locations is the one department on a project that requires people with very diplomatic personalities. Good location people are diplomats, able to communicate effectively with nonproduction people. This ability is a special quality that is invaluable when working on a show. The location person has to get someone to let a crew of ten to fifty or more people onto his property, carrying in all kinds of equipment, for 10–12 hours per day.
