Plan and prioritise

Abstract

The plan and prioritise phase of the competitive intelligence cycle is too often neglected, but the key to success lies in putting in efforts here. To clarify the purpose of the competitive intelligence activities, to state in what context the outcome is to be used, to plan the work, to set the budget and timeline and not least to draw up the business environment map are all activities that are essential to achieve success. The business environment map sets the priorities for which areas we should cover in the competitive intelligence activities: the key intelligence topics. When drawing the map we must be aware of possible blind spots in the map and how to manage them.
