The Sunday Business Post has described Fergus O'Connell as having “more strings to his bow than a Stradivarius.” He has a First in Mathematical Physics and has worked in information technology, software development, and general management with companies such as CPT, ICL, and Retix. In 1992, he founded ETP ( www.etpint.com ), which is now one of the world's leading program and project management companies. His experience covers projects around the world; he has taught project management in Europe, North America, South America, and the Far East.

O'Connell is the author of five books:
