In the previous discussions, we have assumed a single sensor and a single controller. However, in practice, there can be many sensors and controllers in a CPS. For example, in smart grids, there may be thousands of sensors (PMUs) and controllers (since each generator has a controller). Hence in this section, we discuss the relationship between entropy and communications in a networked CPS.
