Why study eHealth?
• Between 70–75% of U.S. adults look online for health information (Aitken, 2014).
• eHealth or digital health funding surpassed $1.9 billion in 2013, growing 39% from the previous year and more than doubling since 2011 (Tecco, 2014a).
• The number of hospitals and office-based physicians who have adopted eHealth records has nearly tripled since 2010 (RWJF, 2013).
• Mobile healthcare and medical app downloads are expected to reach 142 million by 2016 (Cox, 2012).
