1. Appendix E provides a checklist of pitfalls that can be used during the planning of a testing effort to assess the actual testing effort (that is, the as-planned and as-performed testing programs).
2. Not all testing pitfalls have the same probability or harm severity. These pitfall specifications are not intended to be used as part of a quantitative scoring scheme based on the number of pitfalls found. Instead, they are offered to support qualitative review and planning.
3. Note that the occurrence of a potential consequence may be a symptom by which the pitfall is recognized.
