You can program in COM without knowing anything in this chapter. I've introduced nothing that is radically important. But this chapter introduces many tricks that you should store upstairs until that rainy day comes when you realize that your COM application is too slow or that you would really like to inherit the implementation of a COM object.
Run your COM+ applications through the same kind of benchmark testing discussed early in the chapter. You might be surprised at how much room there is for improvement. Remember that remote activation can surprise you, and many times experimentation reveals a story you couldn't predict.
