Summary

The logbook makes elegant use of many COM+ features, such as the event system, Just-in-Time Activation (JITA), object pooling, idle time management, automatic deactivation of objects, synchronization, and the object constructor string. The logbook is a good example of the synergies generated by using multiple services simultaneously. You can extend the logbook or improve it by customizing it to fit specific requirements (such as adding verbosity levels). In any case, once you start enjoying the productivity boost of the logbook, you will find yourself asking one question: “How did I ever manage without it?”
