C. Sik-Lányi,     University of Pannonia, Hungary

Abstract:

This chapter gives a short introduction to the use of colour in the world wide web with the aim of giving web designers a better understanding of colour theory and the part it can play in the design and creation of effective web pages. The use of style sheets and colour codes in the development of harmonious colour schemes is explained. The chapter includes examples to illustrate well- and poorly designed websites and looks at the accessibility of websites for colour-deficient users.
