Building Objects

Each game has one or more objects. Objects are pretty much anything that plays an active role in the game. Whether the objects are characters to be controlled by the player or enemies attacking the player character, they need to be able to take actions. Some objects need to respond to the player’s keyboard and mouse activity. Others need to do things such as automatically attack when the player character is within its attack range. Still other objects simply need to be there for the player character and other objects to stand on. These behaviors are known as intelligence, and building these intelligent objects is central to creating a game.
