Time for action - creating a new project

  1. Create a new project from the templates like we did in the previous chapter. Go to File | New project and then select the Cocos2d template and let's name the project Coloured Stones. You may place it anywhere you like.

    You should now have your new project created and opened. Let's clean it up first to start working on it, as follows:

    • Rename the HelloWorldScene files to something more descriptive for this project. I will rename them as GameScene since that will be the class that will handle the scene where the action happens.
    • Inside the GameScene files, change the name of the CCLayer it contains to GameLayer. This is the only layer we will work with for now.
