Thinking about the origins of this book takes me back to my days as an assistant professor at the University of Southern California Graduate School of Business where I tried to share with my students, initially with little success, much of what I had learned at the University of Chicago. Inadvertently my students sent me on a long journey to improve my skill of delivery and mastery of the content of my economic lectures. For that I will always be grateful to them.
