If you want to be an integrated leader whom people want to follow, you need to build trust. People need to feel confident that you’ll make the right decisions, to feel safe communicating with you, and to trust that you are looking out for their best interests as well as for the interests of the organization. One of the most disheartening situations we can be in is to work for a boss whom we can’t trust to look out for us or to make sound decisions.
