What's the Way to Make This Really Easy?

With this question, you make the positive assumption that solving a situation or achieving the end result can be easy. This question is particularly useful when someone is faced with something that feels like a difficult uphill battle that threatens to overwhelm. I also keep it posted as a note on my desk to remind me to make things easy – a variation on the KISS formula (Keep It Sweet and Simple).

Sometimes people create complexity and forget to look for an easier way. Asking this question invites the client to come up with strategies that increase focus and fun. This is the kind of question to leave clients with to ponder, so that they come up with their own solutions in their own time, often outside the coaching session.
