1 Interculturalism is the discipline of the interculturalists, a term that refers to professionals involved in cross-cultural work. Their background is typically in human studies areas such as cultural anthropology, international relations, psychology, and intercultural communication. Interculturalists are researchers, academics, consultants, trainers, educators, politicians, peace workers, or mediators. They are culture generalists who master broad cross-cultural knowledge and who understand common global cross-cultural challenges.
