This chapter contains a glossary of the terms used to describe HA concepts and the products that are used in creating HA solutions.

Adoptive Node

An alternate node to which MC/ServiceGuard could transfer control of a package. A package may have several adoptive nodes, though it has only one primary node.

Advanced Tape Services

These services allow you to attach tape libraries to more than one node in a ServiceGuard cluster to allow highly available backup operations and to permit efficient use of library facilities.
