Chapter 21. Image Management
Introduction
One function in lifecycle management intersects interoperability and prototyping and staging and integration: image management. Image management is the ongoing support and updating of the image. Depending on the size and scope of a business, image management may be a part of either function (interoperability and prototyping, staging and integration) or a function unto itself.
Most of the time, image management is handled by engineering, aided by a set or a suite of management tools to provide patch management and version control (software fixes).
