In the first three parts of this book, I provide a pretty extensive introduction to the tenets of clinical nutrition in terms of content, the information itself: nutritional guidelines, the link between diet and health outcomes, how nutritional needs change over the course of a lifetime, and so on. In this chapter, I introduce how to convey that information to others.

This and the next chapter may be the most important chapters in the whole book for people who are interested in clinical nutrition. Why? For the most part, anybody can find nutritional information in a number of places, such as this text, and be able to grasp how to eat healthy, exercise, avoid tobacco, drink in moderation, and so on in order to live a long, healthy life.

But knowing how to effectively and efficiently communicate that information to someone else in a way that lets that person understand and comprehend the information and then successfully adhere to those recommendations is an entirely different set of skills. ...
