Climate change is a global phenomenon that can profoundly alter Asia’s economic future and livelihoods by exacerbating poverty and resource scarcity. One of the main causes of climate change is the increase in greenhouse gases (GHGs) emissions, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2) (IPCC 2012, 2013; US Environmental Protection Agency 2016).
