Now He Wanted to Make Us First

JoAnn noticed that the postmark on Charles’s note was a city that rang a bell. Wasn’t this the headquarters for that other bank we had first turned down? In Arizona, Charles had been a mortgage banker, and his note mentioned that he had a new job at a bank. On the off chance there might be a connection, JoAnn called Charles and asked which bank. It was number three. She asked Charles whether he had anything to do with foreclosures (REOs), and Charles said no but that these people practically worked across the aisle from him. Would he find out who ran the REO department and write a letter for us? Of course he would. He was thrilled at the thought of helping us. Clients First had put Charles first, and now he wanted to do the same for us.

Here is the letter Charles wrote on our behalf. We have withheld the name of the bank and its headquarters to protect the privacy of the institution.

Dear [Key Executive],

I believe you may have recently received an REO REALTOR® submission package from JoAnn and Joseph Callaway located in Scottsdale, Arizona. I wanted to tell you a little bit about them, as I have had direct contact with both JoAnn and Joseph. We recently relocated back to [Midwest State] after 21 years in Scottsdale, Arizona.
