Obedience

Dogs are loyal, and they love unconditionally, but the difference between a good dog and a bad dog is obedience. Soldiers follow orders. Cooks prepare your meal the way you want it. When it’s your money, you want to receive what you pay for. If you are paying for a service, then the provider should deliver what you ask for. To serve is to be obedient.

Does this mean the clients always know what is best? No, but it is not our place to save them. They must save themselves. It is our place to serve them. By being honest, competent, and caring we help them make their decisions, and we hope these are better decisions because of our care. But, in the end, we give them what they want and do what they say. This is putting the Client First.

All of these virtues add to the Clients First experience. Be kind, courteous, generous, friendly, and sincere. To do less is to regret the time lost in pointless endeavors.

Be an advocate. Promise less and deliver more. Be as determined for your clients as you would be for yourself.

Put your Clients First, and do not limit your efforts on their behalf. Be honest, competent, and caring. Then build on this foundation. Remember, the difference between a champion and an also-ran is often immeasurably small.
