Opportunity to Help

Yes, it would be nice to have a crystal ball. We could gaze into the glass and see our futures. We would make all the right choices. We would have seen the housing bubble of 2005 coming and sold our homes at the high point. We would have purchased the right car when gas went through the roof. We would’ve, should’ve, and could’ve. And yes, we would have picked only the good, loyal, and easy-to-work-with clients.

In the process, however, we would have failed to serve the truly distressed. We would have missed opportunities to help those in need. We would have failed ourselves, and we would not have an army of supporters.

JoAnn and I have found there seems to be another rule, a one-in-a-hundred rule: If you serve a hundred easy clients, one may tell someone of the easy job you did; but if you truly serve one difficult client, that person will tell a hundred people of your struggle to assist him or her in reaching the desired goal.
