Raving Fans

Well, where are all the well-served, happy clients? Even if only one in a hundred speaks up, the 6 million to 7 million annual transactions nationwide should yield 60,000 to 70,000 raving fans singing their agents praises. Were this case, the grievous errors of a few would be drowned out by the cheers of the many, and real estate agents would be among our most respected professionals.

Of course, this assumes that, discounting the few troublemakers, all the remaining agents put their Clients First. Sadly, this is not the case.

JoAnn and I think very highly of our colleagues. We believe helping people through their biggest purchases, helping them through the uprooting and transitioning from one home to another, is a noble pursuit. We are grateful for the privilege of working in the real estate business. We know many agents share these feelings. Real estate agents are the best of citizens. They typically care about their clients, their neighborhoods, and their communities. They volunteer time and money to worthy causes. They support their local schools. They try to be honest and competent, and they have empathy for their clients’ situations. But until they embrace Clients First, until they commit to complete honesty, total competence, and unwavering care, they will find their work less rewarding and their satisfaction fleeting.
