Miracles

It doesn’t matter what your religious affiliation is, or even whether you have one, I am here to tell you that faith and miracles do happen. I don’t know if it’s a physical law of vibrational energy or a new-age touchy-feely thing, but it is real, and when it happens, the hair on the back of your neck stands up and you take notice.

A short time after we experienced our Clients First moment, we listed a home on Delcoa Avenue, which our client had remodeled extensively, doing most of the work himself. It sold at the first open house to a couple moving from south Scottsdale, and they hired us to sell their home as well, which we did only a week later. I’ll never forget this couple, whom we represented both as buyer and seller. Although they were middle-aged, they were almost childlike in their understanding of the process. He had a good job and she was a stay-at-home mother, and they emanated a goodness that can only be described as “sweet.”

We commenced escrow on both homes and sat down with them to discuss the inspection report on the Delcoa house, the one they were purchasing. It was awful. It was typical do-it-yourself workmanship, and the list of deficiencies was long. We recommended that they ask for extensive repairs, and I’ll never forget what she said: “No, we can fix these later. I know that our house will need a lot of things, too, but if we don’t ask these folks to fix anything, our buyer won’t either.”
