So far, we've covered why you should blog and how to plug in to the blogosphere so you can find interesting blogs. The time has come to dive right in and see what it's like to start a blog yourself.

The three blogging services I'll talk about in this chapter—Google's Blogger, Microsoft's Windows Live Spaces, and Six Apart's TypePad—currently host the bulk of the blogs out there that are not running on individually controlled servers, and definitely get the job done. Each has advantages and disadvantages that you should know about before you start investing your time and perhaps your money.
