INTRODUCTION

To begin thinking about and planning classroom practice we need a framework: an overall perspective which gives us both a start point and a sense of direction. The behavioural model offers a particular perspective on the teaching process which is clear and practical and perhaps most important of all, is positive in its philosophy. It provides teachers with a systematic way of describing and interpreting the classroom environment.
