Planning the design of a secure facility

Many threats must be considered when planning to build or expand a facility for an organization. These considerations include location, environment design to improve physical security, construction design, and the countermeasures that should be installed to secure the facility. Such countermeasures include preventing or deterring an attack from happening, delaying the attacker’s progress, detecting the attack as early as possible, and assessing the situation to determine the severity of the attack and introduce a response to the situation that is properly targeted and scaled.
