abstraction

When data is managed as a collection called an object, it is called abstraction.

access control

An extension of administrative procedures that tell administrators how to configure authentication and other access control features of the various components.

Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)

Allows a host to determine an unknown remote destination physical address from a known logical address. It is typically used for mapping IP addresses to MAC addresses.
