Chapter 5. UCS B-Series Blade Servers

The Cisco® Unified Computing System (UCS) is a data center server architecture that unifies network virtualization, storage virtualization, and server virtualization, within open industry standard technologies and with the network as the platform.

This chapter will first give a brief overview of the various components and then describe them in detail.

Figure 5-1 shows the components of a UCS, with the exception of the UCS Manager that is a software element.
