Summary

This chapter discussed how dial-in users can be authenticated using the local database. As an example, the chapter included a basic AAA configuration. Next, the chapter took an in-depth look at the AAA authentication process using a TACACS+ server. Finally, the chapter explored how IPSec can be used to secure VPNs coming into the network through the Internet.

The next chapter, “Providing Secure Access to Internet Services,” covers the requirements of securing the corporate network while still allowing access to Web servers.
