Switched Lines

Switched lines are similar to leased lines in that the telco will deliver a dedicated service line to your company. This dedicated line terminates on a piece of switching equipment in the telco's central office rather than at an point of your choosing as with a leased line.

The type of switched service you purchased determines which type of switch your circuit is terminated on. If you are buying Frame Relay service, your local dedicated circuit will be connected to a Frame Relay switch in the telco's central office.
