Creating a Session with the Switch

Just as with a router, a session can be established with a switch either through the console cable by using HyperTerminal or by connecting to the switch over the network via Telnet. The procedures are the same as with a router with respect to using the console cable and HyperTerminal. However, there is one important additional consideration when connecting to the switch for a Telnet session, as you will see in the section “Creating a Session through Telnet.”
