About the Authors

Patrick J. Conlan spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy as a communications technician operating, maintaining, and designing communication systems of diverse types, including radio, satellite, non-IP and IP communication systems. The last four years of his naval career were spent as an IT instructor and curriculum developer. He taught numerous courses ranging from basic computer networking to advanced IP system integration and design. Pat was also in charge of developing a new and updated IT curriculum that the U.S. Navy continues to use today to train their IT personnel.

After the Navy, Pat started his own consulting company where he delivered network assessment, design, IT instruction, and curriculum development services.
