Description
This command sets the amount of time a session waits for user input before timing out and closing the session. minutes
specifies the number of minutes in the timeout period; seconds
specifies the number of seconds.
Don’t set the EXEC timeout to be extremely short; for example, don’t give a command like exec-timeout 0 1
. You may never get back into your router without doing a configuration recovery.
Example
The following command sets the timeout period to 4 minutes and 59 seconds:
exec-timeout 4 59
