Chapter 14. Multilink Frame Relay (FRF.16)

The Frame Relay Forum Technical Committee released a set of standards specifications in May 2002 to support Multilink Frame Relay for the User-Network Interface (UNI) and the Network-to-Network Interface (NNI). This set of standards, defined in the Frame Relay Forum Implementation Agreement Document Number FRF.16, describes a method that allows a group of Frame Relay physical interfaces to be combined into a single Frame Relay “bundle” to effectively boost the aggregate throughput. FRF.16.1 is the latest version of the Multilink Frame Relay UNI/NNI Implementation Agreement document and the full version of FRF.16.1 is available at http://www.mplsforum.org/frame/Approved/FRF.16/frf16.1.pdf.
