Using a Syslog Server
Logging to the device’s internal buffer is the most efficient method of handling system messages, but the most popular is to log messages to syslog server software.
Syslog servers log the messages and usually provide an easy means to display and sort the messages for easier troubleshooting.
Thanks to syslog servers, administrators can easily use the wealth of information presented in system messages. They can search for messages with certain keywords or severity levels. They can easily script email of text alerts based on the receipt of a certain message/severity.
