Frame Relay configuration can be very basic or somewhat detailed, depending on how many default settings can be used. By default, Cisco IOS automatically senses the Local Management Interface (LMI) type and automatically discovers the mapping between DLCI and next-hop IP addresses (using Inverse Address Resolution Protocol [ARP]).
