Introduction to XPresso

This recipe will get us started and introduce you to how XPresso works. It's a simple example of how to link similar properties together to save some time on keyframing. Hopefully, you'll see some of the potential of XPresso here.

Getting ready

Use the Spinning_Top.c4d file from the C4D Content Pack for this recipe.

How to do it...

  1. Click on play in the Animation toolbar and watch this top start spinning, and come to a complete stop by the end of the timeline. I already keyframed the animation for you, so you'll only need to focus on learning XPresso. XPresso is activated via a tag and it's opened in a separate window, cleverly named the XPresso Editor.
