Adding relief – Bump and Displacement channels

Part of the process of making the perfect 3D model is the concept of imperfection. There are many surfaces in the world that aren't perfectly flat or smooth, whether by nature or design. Think in terms of the carpet on your floor, if every fiber was the same height and angled uniformly towards the ceiling, it would look strange, wouldn't it? Many surfaces have divots, dimples, relief, and all kinds of bumps to make them unique, and as a result are incredibly difficult to model using basic tools to tweak geometry. There are two channels in the Material Editor that we can use to apply very structured or natural kinds of relief to our objects without modeling, the Bump channel and the Displacement
