Using Shaders

Instead of loading an image as a texture inside Cinema 4D, we can use Shaders to simulate the look and feel of certain textures and patterns. Shaders are what we would call procedural textures, meaning that they are determined by formulas and different input parameters that we specify. Cinema 4D is equipped with many kinds of Shaders that can help you generate the kind of material you want right inside Cinema 4D, rather than relying on images outside the application.
