Lighting with Sky objects

Now that we've learned how to apply Global Illumination, we can discover yet another way to light your environments inside Cinema 4D. Using High Dynamic Range (HDR) images as a material on a Sky object can provide all the light we need inside Cinema 4D. It works great in scenes with reflective surfaces because we can use actual HDR photographs to light our scene that will appear in our reflections. This eliminates the need to position and set up lights; we just need to rely on the HDR image to distribute light among our scene.

Getting ready

Open the Warm_Wine_Scene.c4d again. We are going to light this image with an HDR image. Revert to the original image by hitting Revert to Saved in the File menu of the project.
