Making an asteroid with FFD and Displacer

Let's continue the trend of manipulating parametric primitives with deformers. In this recipe, we are going to use two new deformers, the FFD and Displacer, to change the shape of a perfectly round sphere to turn it into a lopsided and jagged-looking asteroid. The deformers are perfect for this kind of modeling because an asteroid has no set shape, and we can try a variety of different adjustments to the shape without making any permanent changes to the object.

Getting ready

Locate and open the Asteroid.c4d file in the C4D Content Pack and use it with this recipe.
