Getting started with the Taper deformer

Some of the deformers are very basic, like the Taper deformer. It takes an object and applies a transformation to it to appear narrower at one end than the other. In this recipe, we're going to take a Cube object and turn it into a coffee table using a couple of tools and the Taper deformer.

How to do it...

  1. Start with a new project and create a new Cube object from inside the Primitives menu in the Command Palette. In the Attribute Manager, reduce the Size Y value down to 10 units so it's much shorter. Now, change the Segments X, Segments Y, and Segments Z values to 10, which will divide our Cube object into smaller pieces on each of the faces.
