Building Provinces

Having created the spokes connecting the cities, it was a simple step to make the provinces: I needed only to connect the midpoints of the spokes, like what appears in Figure 24.2.

Of course, such borders are unacceptably polygonal; they needed further cosmetic work. This I did by wiggling the lines as I drew them. I used random numbers to determine how far to wiggle the line in the X and Y dimensions as I drew it.
