Finale was the reigning champion of music scoring software packages throughout the 1990s. However, since Sibelius was ported from the Archimedes to the PC and then to the Mac, around the end of the decade, the situation has changed. Finale had still not been updated for OSX at the time of writing (July 2003). Nevertheless, there is ‘life in the old dog’ yet! Finale has a very large installed user-base – lots and lots of people all over the world use Finale every day for every type of music scoring imaginable.
